Sharp Mobile has unveiled a new smartphone in Japan called the Sharp Aquos R. The smartphone is currently listed on the company’s official website and it comes in black and silver colour options. Sharp has not revealed the pricing for this smartphone yet.
The Sharp Aquos R has a metal unibody design and a 5.3-inch IGZO Quad HD display with screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It is armed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor, which is clubbed with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of Internal storage, with an option to expand storage via microSD card. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system and is backed up by a 3,160mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
On the camera front, the Sharp Aquos R flaunts a good 22.6-megapixel shooter with an aperture of F/1.9 and optical image stabilisation. In its front lies a 16-megapixel snapper with a wide-angle lens for selfies and video chats. The smartphone houses a fingerprint scanner, which is embedded in its home button. This Dual SIM smartphone supports 4G/LTE with VoLTE network and comes with all basic connectivity options like WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth etc. The handset measures 153 x 74 x 8.7 mm. This handset is water and dust resistant (IPX 8), and a Type-C USB port is placed on its bottom.
The device comes pre-loaded with the company’s own AI assistant dubbed as EMOPA, which gives the user audio and text messages and changes the screen, depending on the time, place, and user’s personal needs. As an extra accessory, the company is offering ‘ROBOKOKU’ charging dock for EMOPA to operate.
