Up to 7 PCIe 4.0 slots offer ultimate expansion capability and 8 memory channels to take on the most complex projects.
Taipei, Taiwan, January 12th, 2021 – GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY Co. Ltd, a leading manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards, today announced the new WRX80 workstation motherboard exclusively for AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ PRO processors.
AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ PRO Processors deliver the world’s first 64 core professional workstation platform. Professional content creators can now leverage the fastest, most versatile workstation processor ever created with unmatched core counts for multi-threaded workloads and high frequency single threaded performance for lightly threaded tasks. This unique, full spectrum compute capability means reduced render times, more creative iterations, rapid simulation solving, quick assembly rebuilds and smooth interactivity with 3D assets. Designed to let artists, architects, animators, and engineers multitask and get more done in less time.
WRX80-SU8-IPMI equips several new components to ensure the best PCIe 4.0 signal quality, including PCB, PCIe Slots, M.2 Connectors, Re-drivers. With leadership architecture of AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ PRO, max out the 128 PCIe 4.0 lanes from 3000WX series with 6 PCIe 4.0 x16 and 1 PCIe 4.0 x8 slot that can be used for GPUs, accelerators, storage devices, or networking.
WRX80-SU8-IPMI has 8 UDIMM/RDIMM slots, support for 8 memory channels. GIGABYTE has also included plenty of storage and LAN ports. The storage options: 4 x SATAIII, 3 x SlimSAS for either NVMe or SATAIII(@Gen4 x 4), and 2 x M.2 for either NVMe or SATAIII(@Gen4 x 4). For networking, there is a dual-port 10GbE Intel® X550AT2 Ethernet controller, and a dual-port Intel® i210AT 1GbE LAN port. Intel® X550AT2 Ethernet Controller is able to provide up to 10 GbE network connectivity as well as Intel SR-IOV feature. It is perfectly designed for media centers, workstations and virtual machine requirement. The Intel® i210AT supports Windows server OS with fault tolerance, link aggregation, load balancing feature. The network interface is shared with IPMI management with NCSI. User can choose data transferring or remote management on GbE LAN by their requirement. For Remote Management, GIGABYTE provides GIGABYTE Management Center for BMC server management via a web browser based platform. With ASPEED AST 2500 BMC, Gigabyte server boards can provide an IPMI 2.0 compliant solution for IT managers to do remote management through the web interface. Further with the Q-Flash Plus feature, users can easily update BIOS without even installing a processor, memory, graphics cards, so they can enjoy the new BIOS easily and take full advantage of the new processors.
