The package includes a manual book, a USB-A to USB-C cable, and the controller.

The Storm Controller features a sleek black design with the signature purple accents that are synonymous with Cooler Master. At first glance, it closely resembles an Xbox controller. The action buttons are a striking purple, labeled Y, X, A, and B, just like an Xbox controller. The D-pad looks sturdy, complementing the overall design along with the directional buttons.

The middle button, which features the Cooler Master logo, serves as the power button. Additional buttons include the view/back button at the top left, the FN (Function) or Mouse Cursor button below it, and the start and menu buttons at the top right. The Bluetooth pairing button is located below these. At the very bottom of the controller, there are three LED lights.

On the bottom of the controller, there is a barcode and some product information. The shoulder buttons, also in purple, are labeled RB, RT, LB, and LT, standing for Right Bumper, Right Trigger, Left Bumper, and Left Trigger, respectively, mirroring the Xbox layout.

With the optional phone cradle attachment, gaming anywhere becomes even more convenient and accessible. The cradle can be adjusted to multiple angles and can be set on a desk or other surfaces for added convenience. It features an intuitive, easy-adjust system that allows you to position your phone effortlessly, enabling a seamless set-and-play experience.

Mobile Phone Cradle, made from a lightweight yet sturdy material, easily attaches to the Storm Controller. The holder is suitable for any mobile phone, which is somewhat surprising given the presence of larger “fridge” phones on the market. Additionally, the holder can be tilted up to 220 degrees, allowing you to position your device in the most comfortable way for gaming.

The phone cradle is a simple, lightweight holder made of plastic. Although it feels light, it appears to be sturdy. The hinges are stiff, which is beneficial for supporting larger and/or heavier phones, ensuring that your device doesn’t fold back and fall. The holder is also easy to attach to the controller and includes an opening at the top for the charging cable, allowing you to charge your mobile device while using it with the controller.

Once connected to my iPhone 15 Pro Max, I started the first game that came to mind, MetalStorm. The controller didn’t seem to work with some mobile games such as Mobile Legend Bang Bang and others. However, not all Windows and mobile game support controller.

Price & availability

The Storm Controller is available for $79, positioning it as one of the most affordable Android/IOS and Windows-compatible controllers on the market. For an extra $22.90, you can purchase a cradle to hold your smartphone while gaming.
