The Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti features the same number of CUDA cores as the latest TITAN X, at 3,584 spread across 28 streaming multiprocessors. The chip has a slightly lower memory bus at 352 bits than what you find on the Nvidia TITAN X Pascal. The total video memory 11 GB DDR5X. A cluster of ROPs is also disabled, so you now get 88 ROPs compare to the 96 ROPs on the TITAN X.

The ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1080Ti is the company’s latest version of a custom design GTX 1080 Ti, using improved cooling and an overclock out of the box. Also included Aura software to adjust RGB lighting.

The card is covered with a nice matte black PCB and backplate, all quite impressive as well.

The card itself is a dual-slot solution at 11.73 x 5.28 x 2.07 inches and 29.8 x 13.4 x 5.25 cm.

Power is provided through a dual 8-Pin connector configuration which means we are looking at a maximum power input of 300W.

The card I/O come with 2 x DisplayPorts 1.4, 2 x HDMI 2.0, and DVI display connectors are placed on the back.

The new cooling design is focus on the heat-pipe, the GPU is cooled by a nickel-plated copper base plate connected to six heatpipes Pipes on this graphics card. ROG Strix graphics provides 40% more heat sink surface area for heat dissipation compared to previous 2-slot designs for cooler and quieter performance.

It’s features a powerful 10+2 phase Super Allow Power II design. This enhanced PCB design offers improved efficiency, reduced power loss and is able to achieve thermal load levels that are 50% cooler than previous designs.

Let’s move on to take a closer look at the components on the PCB which are hiding under the cooler. On the left, we have the I/O backpanel containing the five digital video outputs, followed by the graphics processor in the middle surrounded by eleven pieces of GDDR5X memory chips. The right side of the PCB sports a number of voltage regulation components (MOSFETs) and controller and total up is 10+2 power phases. You may find the list of components below.
